Welcome to Resurrection Parish Religious Education Program

Resurrection Director of Religious Education Welcomes You !

Dear PREP Families,

Welcome to the Parish Religious Education Program!

An important mission of our religious education program at Resurrection is to help children become intellectually enlightened about their faith and grow in understanding and appreciation for the Mass.  Attending Mass each week with your child and praying together is a way to inspire lifelong devotion to the Catholic faith.

We at the PREP hope to partner with you in the faith formation of your children. We are thankful to our dedicated volunteer catechists who strive to provide age appropriate and meaningful catechesis for students each week.

Our Pastor, Monsignor Dwyer, provides ongoing guidance and support to every aspect of our program. He along with our clergy visits classrooms each week to answer questions and to supplement instruction.

Our Pastoral Associate, Sr. Danielle Marie Baran CR was formerly the principal of Maria Regina High School. She now enriches our students’ faith lives by facilitating First Holy Communion and Confirmation Retreats.  By attending these sessions, our students gain a deeper understanding of the meaning of these very special sacraments. Sister also provides a “spiritual touch” to our parental sacramental meetings.

The PREP staff and I look forward to getting to know you and your children and hope that we can journey together towards a closer relationship with God and His presence in our daily lives.

God Bless,

Mary Humphrey

Director of Religious Education

PREP Registration: Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions:

I need to change my child’s PREP class to a different day?

  • Log into your PREP account on our website www.ryeprep.org.
  • Click on your child’s registration form under “Registration History”
  • Amend the first AND second choice PREP class
  • Remember to click “SUBMIT” at the end of the page
  • In addition, it would be helpful if you could send an email as soon as possible to   notifying us of the change you have made

NOTE: Wednesday classes are often the first to fill up, followed by Tuesdays. When classes become full, we may only be able to make a change if someone else requests to switch from that day. However, we will do our best to accommodate switches.

What day did I sign my child up for PREP?

  • Log into your PREP account on the website
  • Click on your child’s registration form under “Registration History”
  • Scroll down to view the day and time you selected

When will we receive my child’s PREP class assignment?

  • The PREP office hopes to confirm the day each student has been assigned by the end of August.
  • However, actual catechist and classroom details will be emailed the day before your child’s class begins.

When do PREP classes for 2018/19 begin?

Wednesday classes:  September 12th

Sunday classes:  September 16th

Tuesday classes:  September 18th

Our PREP calendar will be updated throughout the year with class dates and events.

We have moved house/changed contact numbers/have a new email address etc.

  • Log into your PREP account on our website www.ryeprep.org
  • Click on each family member’s name individually and update the details accordingly

Why am I having difficulty accessing my Family PREP account or re-registering my child?

There are two main reasons why you may be having difficulty:

  1. Make sure you are using the same email address as last year.
    • If you try to use a different email address to the one used last year, you will not be able to access your child’s records from the previous year
    • Once you access your account using last year’s email, you will be able to update to the new email address by changing your profile
  2. If you were not the person who registered your child last year, it is likely that they either did not list you as a guardian, or they did not include the specific email address you are trying to use. Please check with other guardians in your family if this may be the case.
